John Travolta in JHB

A day before the World Cup kick-off, world-renowned actor and experienced pilot John Travolta landed on South African soil.

Piloting his own 707 (which has Quantas branding) from Buenos Aires, Travolta landed a little after 10am with his wife and daughter onboard.

As official goodwill ambassador to Quantas, he is here to offer support the Australian soccer team, the Socceroos, who will be playing their first World Cup match in Durban against Germany on Sunday 13.06.2010.

During their stay, the Travolta family will also be promoting the awareness of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund by attending a function in Sandton.
